When machining the PEEK selective plating tool, if the PEEK tube is directly clamped, the finished PEEK selective plating tool will be slightly deformed, which will be gradually enlarged during the electroplating process, resulting in a decrease in the quality of the electroplated product.
We can provide some machining tips to prevent the deformation of the PEEK selective plating tool, and working for a long time during the electroplating process will not affect the quality of electroplating products.
1. Clamp the left side of the PEEK tube, turning the right section to be flat, then drilling and tapping
2. Make a disc with 45# steel, drilling at the same position and tapping, fasten the PEEK tube on the steel disc with screws. Then clamping the steel disc for the remaining machining operations. As well as mask slots, no need to clamp again.
3. This method uses a steel disc to replace the PEEK tube for clamping, which avoids the residual stress on the product from machining and clamping, and ensures that the shape and position accuracy of the PEEK selective plating tool does not change after long-term operation.
4. The dimensional tolerance of the PEEK selective plating tool can be controlled below 0.01mm, the 4 axis machining center can meet this requirement.
It should be noted that the screw holes on the PEEK selective plating tool must match the driving device on the final production equipment, so that the dynamic balance of the working state can be completely achieved, and there will not be too much vibration during high-speed rotation.
